A passion that began in 1927 in the Adriatic coastal town of San Benedetto del Tronto, with the Merlini family who, serving the local fishing industry, provided work for local net makers and rope makers and offered their products in Italian ports.
It was a small family business serving local fishing, providing work for local net makers and rope makers and offering their products in Italian ports.
The leap from craft activity to industrial production took place in the 1950s when, thanks to Eng. Giovanni Merlini, the production process was mechanized, the company expanded, and our products reached European countries and the Mediterranean basin.
In 1986, REMER was founded and is managed by the third generation of the Merlini family: wherever there is a need to lift, anchor, tension, there is a REMER rope.
The product range and target markets diversified, and today REMER supplies the lifting sector through cranes and elevators, construction, port, forestry and mining industries, fishing, oil & gas, and tensioning for anti-hail coverings and rockfall barriers.
Its headquarters in San Benedetto del Tronto has a covered area of 8,000 sqm, where REMER dedicates its full production capacity while looking to the future and launching the modernization of production with Industry 4.0 technologies. Through the installation of a photovoltaic power generation system and the replacement of traditional lamps with LED lights, REMER contributes to environmental protection, reducing energy consumption and thereby helping to reduce CO2 emissions.
The reliability of our company system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards has been certified by RINA since 1998, and REMER has been recognized since 2012 as a manufacturer of steel wire ropes up to 74 mm in diameter approved by Lloyd’s Register.
At the core of our work is the constant commitment to ensuring quality products and keeping our word to our partners.
These are our ongoing goals:
A story that has lasted for almost a century can only be sustained by fundamental values:
